Golf Course Equipment Mechanic

Equipment Technician will perform preventative maintenance, grind and set reels and mower blades, perform small engine repairs, as well as assist the Equipment Manager with large equipment repairs.

Glenwild Golf Club's goal is to help mentor, support and develop the Equipment Technician into the role of Equipment Manager. Glenwild is a member owned club that has a great benefit and equipment replacement program in place. Our fleet consists of Toro and John Deere golf equipment, John Deere, Kubota and Kioti tractors, in a spacious and equipped workshop.

Educational Requirements:

Three to six months related experience and or training; or equivalent combination and experience in working knowledge of gas and 2 cycle engines. Ability to diagnose and follow repair manuals. Experience and or willingness to learn Diesel Engines diagnostics, reel grinding, and autonomous/GPS guided mower systems.

Experience Requirements:

Perform shop area maintenance, ensuring that all work areas are clean at end of job as well as end of day. - Knowledge of gasoline, diesel and 2 cycle engines preferred.

Background in mechanics, lube/oil tech or small engine and repair shop. - Candidate will communicate with Equipment Manager on a daily basis to ensure proper setup of equipment and make management aware of all equipment failures. - Candidate will be responsible for checking mowing equipment daily on the golf course to ensure consistency and quality. - Candidate will have a working knowledge of the equipment and be able to train the staff in safe and proper operation. - Knowledge of reel sharpening as well as set up is a plus, but willing to train individual with a positive attitude who is willing to learn.

Dependability and thoroughness will be expected in this position.
